In the spring, we saw the return of the
Triple
Crown to Oahu with 2 tournaments and the NSA State
Championship.
In the summer, Maui's Duck Fat, held its 2nd
Annual softball tournament. The tourament brought
teams from around the islands to Maui with Maui's No
Respect winning the title. Also in the summer,
Asian Invasion teamed up to bring you the July
4th Jackpot tournament. Da Fat Ones and Fat
Katz walked away with the jackpot. The
2004 Hooters Championship Series crowned 808 Softball
and Guava Jam as its champions.
Closing up the summer were 2 of Hawaii's favorites,
The
21st Annual Alumni Tournament and the 3rd
Annual SportStan Classic. The Alumni Tournament,
clearly the biggest and most competitive in the state,
hosted 60 teams and crowned Baldwin its champion.
Baldwin was the first team from the outer islands to
win the title in the tournaments 21 year history.
A week later, teams gathered for the always entertaining
SportStan
Classic. Robo and Full Force walked away with
the titles. The weather, unfortunately, forced
the cancellation of the women's division games.
Wrapping up the year were the TOC
and the Triple
Crown. The TOC
was introduced as the next level in competitive softball.
The TOC
created 8 legs with a 9th tournament to crown Hawaii's
State Champion in 4 divisions. As for the Triple
Crown, 3 teams claimed the Hawaii Holiday Invitational
title, O Case, HBM and Family Stones.
2005 is projected to be full of tournaments and leagues.
808 Sports Net is in the process of gathering tournament
